White River Press is a small independent press for experienced, published authors who cannot currently find a home in traditional publishing. The press, founded in 2006, maintains the best from traditional publishing - high editorial and production standards - while taking advantage of new digital printing and distribution technologies in a process that is efficient, cost effective, flexible and responsible.
Each White River Press author needs to submit a marketing plan along with their manuscript. While we will advise authors on marketing, authors must be willing and able to market their book aggressively. For some authors, this means hiring a book publicist or promotion specialist. For others it means an additional commitment to their established network, online and off, to create book marketing opportunities. Some authors are effective marketers (and enjoy it!), while others don't want to do it themselves and prefer to hire outside help. Whatever the case, White River Press only considers a book if the author will commit to a comprehensive marketing plan that includes libraries, bookstores, and online opportunities.
Welcome.
