Here are some of our most frequently asked
questions.
How long does it take to reprint a book with
White River Press?
Our normal reprint process takes 6-10 weeks from the day you sign
your contract with White River Press to the day your book is
reprinted.
I want to write a new introduction to my
reprinted book. Can I do that?
Absolutely. You can add or change up to three pages at the very
beginning and/or end of your book when you reprint. We urge you to do this to help distinguish this new edition from previous editions.

If I want to publish a new book, can I do
that with White River Press?
We publish a limited number of new works with experienced authors. We'd be glad to talk with you about this.
Will my new book be edited?
In order to guarantee quality standards, White River Press
requires all its new books to be professionally edited. We work with
a number of professional editors around the country, and will be
glad to establish connections between you and an appropriate editor.
How long will it take to publish my new book?
The circumstances of every new book are different but generally,
we can have your new book published in 12 weeks from the time we
receive your complete and edited manuscript.
Do I have input on the cover of my White
River Press book?
Yes, a new cover for your book will be designed by White River Press with your input.
If you would like to use one of your own
photographs or drawings on your cover, we would be glad to
incorporate that into your new cover. Please
contact White River Press for more information on including your own
artwork in your cover.
Can I publish a new or reprinted book with
color illustrations or photography?
Yes. Our printer has the latest technology and can print a book
with color. The results are terrific, by the way.
What will my new or reprinted book look like
when it’s printed?
Here at White River Press, we incorporate the latest in print technology with professional editing and prodution so that your finished books are guaranteed to meet all of the professional standards in the publishing industry.
Will my new or reprinted book be registered
with the Library of Congress?
Yes, as long as it meets the criteria set by the Library of
Congress.
How can I buy my new or reprinted book?
You may order copies of your
book at 50% of the retail price. Actual freight and a small handling charge are added to each order. These copies are not subject to
royalties.

How is an audio
version of my book made?
The short answer to this question is: it depends. We have four
price packages for audiobook production and each of them is custom
quoted to fit the individual book and author. Please contact us for
more information.
Where will my audiobook be available?
White River Press’s audio partner is Audible.com. Our audiobooks
are available for download on Audible’s website. Through Audible,
they are also available through Amazon.com and iTunes.

Will my new, reprinted or audiobook have an
ISBN number?
Absolutely. Every book published by White River Press is
identified by its own unique ISBN.
Who will own the copyright to my print or
audiobook?
When you publish with White River Press, you retain the
copyright to your book. Our contract with you is an agreement for the right to publish your book in the English language, not ownership of your copyright.
What will the retail price of my new,
reprinted or audiobook be?
At White River Press, we set a reasonable retail price for your book
that covers its manufacturing costs and ensures royalties for you.
Will my new, reprinted or audiobook be
available through book stores?
Yes, every White River Press book can be ordered through local
book stores. Since White River Audiobooks are available by download
only, they are not distributed through book stores.
Will my audio or print book be available
through Amazon.com?
Yes, every White River Press book is available through
Amazon.com as well as other online retailers.
What is your royalty rate and how often do
you pay royalties?
Your royalty rate is 50% of net—one of the highest rate paid in
the publishing industry. We pay royalties on a quarterly basis. |
